Inclusivity & Accessibility Statement
At Quirky Weddings, we believe every love story deserves to be celebrated without boundaries, judgement or compromise. As the UK’s largest inclusive and alternative wedding fair, our mission is to ensure that all couples and guests feel seen, supported and empowered to plan a day that’s entirely their own.

What inclusion means to us
-
We celebrate every identity, every expression of love and every type of wedding. Whether you’re LGBTQIA+, non-binary, trans, disabled, neurodivergent, multi-racial, interfaith, or simply opting out of tradition—you belong here.
-
“Quirky” means authentic, individual and open-minded. It is not about gimmicks; it is about creating a space where genuine self-expression is welcomed and respected.
-
Our events are intentionally judgement-free, creativity-driven and designed to reflect the diversity of the couples who attend.
Vetting Suppliers for Inclusivity & Accessibility
We maintain a structured vetting process to ensure every Approved Quirky Wedding Supplier aligns with our values and is equipped to serve all couples respectfully and competently.
Our vetting includes:
-
Reviewing supplier websites, language, imagery and client feedback for visible, proactive inclusivity.
-
Assessing accessibility awareness and the supplier’s ability to adapt services to diverse needs (e.g., inclusive communication, sensory-considerate approaches, physical accessibility options).
-
Confirming a zero-tolerance stance on discrimination based on gender, gender identity, sexuality, race, disability, neurodivergence, body size, age, faith, or relationship structure.
-
Monitoring ongoing behaviour, feedback from couples, and alignment with inclusive best practice.
Suppliers who do not meet these standards are not approved or are removed from our directory.

How Our Events Are Fully Inclusive & Accessible
We intentionally design our fayres to ensure all visitors and suppliers can participate comfortably and confidently.
-
Accessible Venues: We select venues with step-free or ramped access where possible, accessible toilets, clear navigation and adequate lighting.
-
Quiet Hour: We provide a lower-sensory “Quiet Hour” at many events to support neurodivergent visitors or anyone who prefers a calmer environment.
-
Inclusive Language & Imagery: Our marketing, signage and digital content feature diverse couples and gender-neutral language throughout.
-
Trained Team & Informed Exhibitors: We brief all exhibitors on inclusivity expectations and accessibility considerations.
-
Responsive Support: We invite couples to disclose access needs in advance or on the day so we can support them effectively.
Supplier Conduct & Disciplinary Process
To maintain the integrity of our inclusive environment, all suppliers agree to our Conduct & Inclusivity Standards as a condition of participation. We enforce these standards through a structured disciplinary process:
1. Initial Report & Evidence Gathering
If a complaint or concern is raised regarding discrimination, exclusionary behaviour, harassment, or breach of our accessibility and inclusivity standards, we:
-
Log the complaint
-
Gather statements, screenshots, or relevant evidence
-
Speak with the reporting couple or visitor (where appropriate)
2. Supplier Notification & Review
The supplier is contacted with a clear outline of the issue and provided an opportunity to respond. We review both sides impartially.
3. Outcome & Actions
Depending on the severity and nature of the breach, actions may include:

Minor Breach (e.g., non-inclusive wording, lack of required clarity, minor accessibility oversight)
-
Formal written warning
-
Required corrective action (e.g., updating language, improving accessibility processes, staff training)
-
Monitoring period
Moderate Breach (e.g., poor treatment of a visitor, disrespectful communication, repeated minor issues)
-
Immediate removal from future events until corrective actions are completed
-
Temporary removal from the supplier directory
-
Required diversity/inclusivity training
-
Follow-up assessment before reinstatement
Severe Breach (e.g., discrimination, harassment, refusal to serve LGBTQIA+ or disabled couples, sustained non-compliance)
-
Permanent removal from all Quirky Weddings events
-
Permanent removal from the directory
-
Public listings updated to reflect removal (without disclosing confidential complaint details)
-
Notification to any relevant industry bodies, where appropriate
4. Zero-Tolerance Policy
Any behaviour involving discrimination, hate speech, or refusal to work with a couple based on identity, ability, or relationship structure results in immediate and permanent exclusion with no right to reinstatement.
